The Out-Of-Placers

Just found a TFTG story comic on FA called, well, The Out-Of-Placers. It's at 21 pages right now, and according to the author will likely run to over 100 pages. The transformation starts on page 13, though fully understanding it requires starting on page 10. But frankly, you're only skipping 10 pages; you might as well start at the beginning.

Which is at http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13286847/

The artist doesn't have much on his (her?) page other than the comic. But from what's currently the top journal post: "I was also a bit worried that the main plot point (occurring around comics 13-15) might scare away some otherwise interested readers, but it looks like exactly the opposite has happened! Which is great, because I intend to make the experience of living as a completely different race and gender a central part of the story. After all the encouraging feedback, I'm a lot more comfortable about taking this route."

So check it out. This is looking good, and it seems s/he has some definite ideas in mind as to where they're going with this.

Oh, and there is process, though it's kind of scanty. The character goes from only a few changes if you look closely, to fully formed. Oh, well. Can't have everything, I guess.

Well that's pretty cool. I'm enjoying this comic for completely different reasons than the TF.

It's a nice story set in an interesting, unique world with rather original creatures, decent characters, and displays artistic ability that's not half bad. I may just keep reading.

Re: The Out-Of-Placers

Hey, I was wondering if The OOPs would turn up on The Process at some point! I'm the author/artist, so it's great to hear that people are enjoying the setting and characters in addition to the TF.

I like the idea of dealing with the aftermath of a TF; how it changes one's self-perception, behavior, social roles, mindset, etc. and the experience of dealing with the changes, and I plan on that being the focus of the comic once the main plotline's set up (We're still in the prologue, which should last another 10 or so comics).

On that note, the TF'd character is still in the "Oh crap how am I going to live like this" stage, so most of the fun stuff I have planned is yet to come.

Glad you think so! Right now there's a lotta plot to get set up, but I'm aiming to do it in an entertaining way, and also flesh out the characters in the process. So it's good to know that it's still fulfilling its main purpose: to be fun to read.

We're of the same kind. That's one of my favorite stages. I've posted comments on DeviantArt, it's nice to see you here as well.

Hey, cool. Didn't know you were a visitor here! Why didn't you post the link yourself - if not when you posted the first strip, then when the TF started?

Actually, that's what I was considering when I came to The Process, then noticed there was already a thread up! I admit that I haven't done much advertising (or much at all aside from drawing comics and putting them on DA and FA); I have a habit of thinking, "Oh, but I should get more drawn before I start really putting it out there!"

I even have webspace from an old comic (valsalia.com) to upload it to if/when I get up off my ass and put together a new site (with my 14 year-old copy of Dreamweaver, lol).

...On that note, does anybody happen to know of any cheap webpage designers? I'd gladly pay somebody to put together a basic site so I don't have to stop comicmaking.
