It seems a bit too obvious where this film is going, and the resulting moral, which might result in people feeling there is no need to see the film.

That is for sure. People seem to be pointing out that and all the flaws of shrinking. And people are saying the wife doesn't go through with it and divorces him.

The size archive has the Downsizing trailer already too. Along with a trailer to another 2017 movie Longing. Honestly, the giantess scene in Longing's trailer was more interesting, and that is supposedly just a one off dream sequence.

Hollywood just seems to be making lots of duds now a days.

With the amount of recycled ideas in Hollywood, Im surprised nobody has done a remake of The Incredible Shrinking Woman.

And I love Lily Thomlin, but not in that way.
If they did a remake of the Incredible Shrinking Man/ Woman I know a couple people for them. The Incredible Shrinking Man would be fun with Chris Pratt. Not sure if he would fit the role, but he has popularity.

The Incredible Shrinking Woman is a bit more difficult. As I want an actress who is good. Also, sexy with big breast. And I doubt they would use a porn star. I wouldn't mind seeing Denise Milani shrink. To be fair she could do the Attack of the 50 Foot Woman too. But that's my giantess fan in me talking.

But the issue of sex would have to be addressed. I doubt they would go for the R rating.

I think I had enough of such large scale disasters after Jurassic World. It may just be me, but I don't like domination, cruelty and death in my fetishes. That kind of ending would only make me angry. Could start a new thread about how people view their fetish.

I was about to argue against this, but after rewatching the trailer, there are no scenes with Wiig post-shrink... so it looks like that plot point stuck. However, Hong Chau's character is a Vietnamese activist who was shrunk against her will by the Vietnamese government, so I'm curious to see how they explore that.

While obviously I'm interested in this movie because of shrinking, I like the idea of exploring the effects of it in our society. Also, it's very clearly commentary on Western masculinity, which I'm okay with.

I can do with out the sex angle. Just want it to be sexy. And women can be very sexy without being explicit. Yeah I wasn't really sure which actress to use. So I chose a hot model with big boobs. I've not been keeping up on movies, and can't watch new TV shows with an antenna.

If I did a remake of ISW, I'd shake up the story a bit. Maybe the first hour or so would involve the slow shrink like the original. Then, she escapes the evil corporation to have her size restored. But, they find her and shrink her back down to six inches with a nice shrinking out of clothes scene.
That sounds fun, though I am tired of the evil corporation trope. A slow shrinking process would be nice to actually see. Getting the right shrinking speed would be hard. The fast shrink out of clothes would be cool. Her interacting with giant clothes at six inches tall would be nice.

Yeah shrinking people against their will when it's permanent doesn't really appeal to me. I don't know if they will explore it as it would have horrific consequences.

I don't think it is about western masculinity. Not from what I could find about the movie any way.
