Yeah pathfinding in the old Starcraft was shit so many times I would have my siege tanks try to go up or down a ramp and have them just create a train wreak. Or you try to get units to run and they run right back thru the enemy.

And lets not forget who Blizzard got the idea from...
http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/04/10 You know its true, look at the Zerg and Trynaid and tell me there's not a huge similiarity.

as long as they dont %@^ it up with heros and items it will be ok . i hated them in wc3 used with or against . that messed up the hole army on army nad made it pointless / all it took ws one hero to almos tstop your growth int he game . with the start only able to make so many units at a time a hero could just stand there and kill it and then regenerate while waiting for the next .

Yes, but Warhammer 40k came before Alien or Predator, to my knowledge atleast.
Of course, anything with a bug-like alien race that eats people could be considered to be based off every other bug-alien race so its not that important.

I'm pretty sure SC was going to be a 40K game at some point...

Aliens
Blizzard is working off of very old prototypes. Essentially, there are two kinds of aliens that invade earth. There are the biological, perfect hunter beings (like the Zerg) and then there are the technologically superior beings (like the protoss). If we're not being invaded, then the aliens come one at a time, like in E.T. and are usually very cute and amusing in their misunderstandings of our culture.
Let's just throw out some examples of the three kinds of aliens, shall we? Protoss = Predator = The Covenant = Skinnies Zerg = Alien = The Flood = Bugs Terran = Human = Masterchief and Co. = Humans It's been done before and it will be done again. It's not a bad thing, but you can't really say that anyone is really stealing from anybody else.

Games Workshop was going to sue Blizzard a while back over stealing thier ideas for Wrahammer (Warcraft) and 40K (Starcraft), but by that time Blizzard had evolved the ideas far enough that it would have taken a court case, and they have a lot more money than Games Workshop has...

And Warhammer (regular and 40k) all have completely original ideas? I have no sympathy for Games Workshop. They overcharge for their low quality platic figurines. To buy all of the stuff just to get a decent amount of pieces to play with costs massive amounts of money. A starter set, expansions, paints, glue, terrain, individual powerful pieces can add up fast. I could probably buy every single one of Blizzards games and still have money for six months of WoW for the money I see people spend on modest sets.
Blizzard may borrow ideas, but who doesn't. Orcs certainly weren't invented by Blizzard or Warhammer. Neither were Space Marines or ridiculous demons, ratlings etc. etc. At least Blizzard charges reasonable amounts for their games and makes them for Macs as well as PCs.

Changing topic: I hope we don't have to wait till E3 (or whatever it is now) to see more of the new units.
