Maintenance: "the potion wears off, so you need more"

Hi everyone, I thought it would be nice to collect stories/comics/etc centered around a specific theme. I'm thinking of when a desirable change starts to wear off after a while, so that the woman has to repeat whatever it was that caused the change in the first place. For example, casting a new youth spell every month lest she grows old again, taking another magic diet pill lest the fat returns, or stealing new strength from someone.

This is somewhat related to the slingshot effect, except that the reversal doesn't necessarily go crazy in the opposite direction; it can just wear off. So it needs to be maintained on a regular basis. It may lead to addiction, but it doesn't have to.

Here are some contributions, to get things started. Next to each contribution i list the *initial* process, not the opposite process that occurs when it wears off.

I like the idea as a plot point to add tension. The "wearing off" creates a different psychological state than the initial change.

Don't forget about TG! That kind of "need more potion" has the potential to be quite hilarious!

Also, hi Lorekeep!

That was sort of the plot of Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde.

I was hoping this would get other people to share similar content, but so far, no such luck. Doesn't anyone have anything? Aww...

Only partially relevant, but I recall something like this in one episode of Disney's Gummi Bears cartoon; a recurring sorceress antagonist drained away the youth of the young girl Gummi Bear in order to maintain her own youthful form.
