How to become a girl in 30 seconds

I wrote an article about virtual reality and the possibilities for TG on my blog.

http://tgcapfic.blogspot.ca/2014/01/...0-seconds.html

It is much closer to mainstream adoption then most realise.

I know that most people don't know about VR since its a niche thing for now, so I just wanted to collect your thoughts on the matter.
For me, it's a boyhood dream, not only as it pertains to TG but also in entertainment in general.

The only big hurdles to overcome would be the lack of TG morphs in video games (it would most likely be of the "poof" variety, albeit the experience afterward would be very immersive) and slow adoption by the mainstream.

So I just wanted to throw the idea out there:
With 360 degrees cameras, you could for example view a female POV porn video. Or maybe someone like clip4sale can even produce fetish videos that caters to TG fantasies.

So what do you guys think?Revolution in TG entertainment? Or a passing fad and gimmick?

Re: How to become a girl in 30 seconds

I do recall something funny in a manga about VR and something slightly like TG...well, more along the lines of partial mind/body control.

In AI love you, Hitoshi Kobe uses a Virtua-Boy and a nintendo power glove (product placement much, or did he just collect crappy Nintendo stuff?) and uses it to link with Saiti, and is able to see things from her view and control the left arm and actually feel what she feels (in the left arm)...to which he uses her left arm to feel her breast and gets hit over the head.

At the end of the story, he proclaims all the problems were worth is just to actually feel a breast...and gets hit again. XD

Well, I don't play video games (not since the days of Dig Dug and Galaxian, anyway ), but I do play around in Second Life (a small difference, I know)... and have made some nice process TG morphs there. Basically, making my own set of process shapes from macho male to total female hottie (using various avatar shape sliders in Edit Appearance mode), and then, since I have no talent for creating my own virtual human skin textures, I find some good transitional skins from those I've gathered around that world, as well as 'prim' hair, with one suitable female short hairstyle that I can copy and modify in color and length into some transitional hair between the initial male short style and the final, longer female hair. The same with masculine and feminine standing/walking/posing animation cycles.

So, it takes some work and creativity, but it can be done, at least in that particular venue. Hopefully, if these Oculus Rift experiments take off, as well as that Google Glasses sex app promotion that's been bouncing around the web in the last few days --where you can switch views with your partner during sex or whatever-- perhaps hybrids and offshoots with CGI game software will result, with methods to morph from one sex/gender to the other, similar to what I described above, but made simpler/easier, all built into an avatar creation/editing panel or something. It'd make sense, since something like that would have other applications, such as for people who want to 'hulk out' or play werewolf, or grow/shrink, or whatever.

The video of the gender-switch tests is amazing, although there's the drawback of the Oculus Rift headgear totally obscuring the faces. While it'd be incredible to look down and see another person's body (especially female) instead of your own, I'd sure like to see a different face looking back at me in the mirror, mimicking my expressions. Perhaps a refined/advanced version of that digital mask app (that's been around for a couple of years) could be used in combination with this, to create the full effect.

What I wonder about now is, the other piece to this puzzle, and that is sensation. I know about haptic technology (special electronic gloves and other sensory devices, that can simulate bumpy and other rough surfaces, fooling your hands/fingertips), and some experiments in neural manipulation, like the 'digital lollipop' that was recently in the tech news, where tastes can be simulated and sent remotely via the internet, but what about being made to feel like you are in a different body, with different parts and proportions, while being fooled into not feeling the genitals and other aspects that you do possess in reality?

For a long time, I have envisioned how sensation --if it could be recorded from one person, or simulated accurately, and then shared with another person via a neural linking device-- could be edited and modified in a similar way to how sound effects editing in movies is done. That is, when you hear a gunshot in an action movie, it isn't usually just a recording of that particular gun being shot; it's a combination of several gun sounds, and sometimes a cannon, to create added visceral, aural impact. In the same way, I could see how recorded sensations could be combined into heightened sensory experience.

So, say you were in a totally-immersive VR experience, where you were shrinking, perhaps shrinking in a morph from a 6' tall guy into a 5' 4 woman. If it were actually possible to appreciably and perceptibly shrink in a matter of moments, I doubt you'd feel anything but your clothes getting looser, or if naked, the areas where the soles of your feet contact the floor would feel a slight sliding sensation along the floor surface, in a radius from the point where the most weight is being brought to bear from your leg. However, if someone was able to simulate those feelings, they could also record, say, the plunging inertia you feel when you ride a long dive in a roller coaster... or that feeling you get in your core when riding an elevator, just when it is slowing to stop at a floor. Then you could say to yourself, along with the obvious visual evidence, "Wow! I'm actually shrinking! I can FEEL it!".

So, anyway, I wonder what's being done in the sensory area. If VR remains largely a visual experience, it may take off, or it may be a fad that fizzles out over time. But if impressive sensory experience is added to it, I could see it all really taking off, and becoming huge, like the invention of film or recorded sound.
