This video is glorious. Shame there isn't more process, but considering the niche I can't complain.

Re: Dr. Jeckel and Ms Hide 1990
This is the first time I've actually seen a "professional" porno flick. I thought the parodies were exaggerated until Mr. "Gardener by Day, Man of Love by Night" showed up.

Re: Dr. Jeckel and Ms Hide 1990
There was an actual movie of Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde in 1995 where a scientist turns into a woman. I watched it before and it was... interesting. I know I was young but I first thought it was some kind of comedy until I see the actual movie. The link right here can explain a little more.

Re: Dr. Jeckel and Ms Hide 1990
I'm not a porn person at all… but I remember getting my hands on this back in the 1990's and really loving the first 10-15 min. It's funny - the exterior shot of the house at the opening - which is actually the Forest Lawn Cemetery over in North Hollywood - is something I drive by almost every day (gives me a chuckle). I believe the movie was primarily shot in San Fernando (no big surprise there).
Although the 1995 version had a much higher budget, better actors and way better effects - I still despise the goofy take on it which takes me out of the movie every time. This 1990 version was my first introduction to a more dramatic opening TF moment that led into the new female experimenting with actually having sex for the first time. Which was a bit of a "whoa" moment for me. But it's pretty obvious it just turns into a straight porn production where all the cast knows all too well what position to be in and what to do (which is not what would have happened for a first time woman having sex). I didn't see the 1970's porn version til after this one - which was much more serious in tone. But to this day my favorite is ]still Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde from Hammer Films back in 1971. I've tried to contact them a number of times and asked to write/direct a remake of it for them - when Hammer decided to start remaking some of their older movies. Never panned out MM |

Re: Dr. Jeckel and Ms Hide 1990
Hi there,
Hmm... definitely an intriguing subject - and certainly one that recalls its fair share of anecdotes as well. The case of this 1990 rendition of the Jekyll/Hyde gender bender concept fascinated me for some time; first encountering it as a lone entry on Metamorphose.org and then further investigation leading, some years later, to me acquiring a copy on DVD in 2008. As regards the content, I will concur with my peers here in that it's fairly formulaic fare, beyond the gender bending, and little else. More so, the 1970's interpretations did seem to have more substance; as Mako noted, the 1972 work was darker, with the Hammer 1971 film - the well known "Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde" - being a classic of this niche sub-genre. Perhaps diverging, though I have heard too of the possible remake and have endeavoured to try to glean more about the project, since becoming aware of it circa 2011. Unfortunately, I have heard little to date and most of the information is fairly dated, by now ^^;. Still, it's always possible a revived Hammer could surprise us . Thanks, Alchemical Night. |
