I wouldn't hold your breath - last time I wanted to commission her (couple months ago), she said she was taking a hiatus from any more shrinking woman commissions for a while. I haz disappoint.

Do you mean $9.99 for a comic you just came across or a comic that you wrote the idea of and are hoping to find someone to draw for you. Cause I have a feeling most comic artists charge something like $25/page for comissions, at least that's the norm I've come across.

And $200 is a little on the pricey side depending on the length but with the quality of her effects it's well worth it.

Alyssa, if you've got the hookup to get comic pages for $25, can you please pass me the info? Everyone I've talked to wants $50 or more (for multi-panel pages, at least).

And yeah...Missa's worth the money. So are you, come to that. ^_^

Well its very sad that she is on hiatus. I hope she comes back to the genre before the year is out, as she is definitely amongst the best (She & Red Parrot are definitely the best of the lot). As a once in a while thing, $200 for a 15 minute vid (with sfx) is entirely reasonable.

Karno, the artist I went with for my first and only commissioned comic did 70 dollars a page, which he then turned around and included in one of his collections so that he had more material for the book. So for a 10 page comic that I provided for free here on the process ran me 700 dollars. Commissions from CallMePo run around 100 dollars for his process style and I've probably spent 100 dollars for the 3 or so commissions I've gotten through expansion fan as a paid member.

So when you think about how much Dreamtales probably has to pay out for Bojay/PalComix and the multitude of others he works with Comissioning a comic is WAY more expensive than buying it. Which is why I buy from people I like, regardless of the material because they're contributing to my entertainment and if you can't afford a few bucks now and then well a money management or finance course would help.

Now that said there are times I'll purchase things and really really wish I hadn't. Right now top of my list is the Missa Futa stuff. I personally find it hard to justify 30 dollars for a 10 to 13 minute clip. But I looked at her process videos as an investment into my writing and to see what the genre samples contained. So in that regard it's not so bad.

When I get ready to write some S.W. features in the future I'll purchase some more Shrinking Women books and Clips to get a feel for the genre.

It's all in how you look in it to be honest.

I think I'm thinking about Just the barest of bones possible for a commission, Just the one character, black and white, sketching. At least that is what I assume with a comic commission that only costs $9.99.

Oh! Well, you may be right about that. But he wasn't talking about commissions, he was talking about buying an existing comic from someone else. Even bare bones comics would cost more than ten bucks a page to commission. :-)
