Re: Symbiotes and their ilk

Often, when there's a character who can manipulate their hair to the point of being able to fight with it, its usually explained to be the work of a symbiotic creature enabling it.

Only... can't recall any characters myself right now...

Guilty Gear's Forbidden Beasts are sometimes described as "parasites". In-story, they form something of a symbiotic bond with its host, granting them supernatural abilities at a cost.

Of the six Forbidden Beasts in the series, only four have been identified:

-Eddie, a shadow-like being, used by the assassin, Zato-1, at the cost of his sight. Eddie eventually took over his host, killing him. Unfortunately, a dead body is still a dead body; Zato-1's body was decaying, and Eddie was unable to procure a new host before dying as a consequence of his actions. Both would be revived via narrative shenanigans, and have mellowed out from the experiences of life, death, and rebirth.

-Angra, used by the assassin, Millia Rage, who utilizes its abilities through her hair. To my knowledge, she has yet to be consumed by Angra, though it has been brought up a few times. Aside from this, little else is known.

Skullgirls also feature parasitic beings called...Parasites, from which they are placed into two groups: Regular/"Natural" Parasites and Man-made/"Synthetic" Parasites.

There's an insane amount of story regarding the Parasites in this game, so please go here for more details:

http://skullgirls.wikia.com/wiki/Parasite

In regards to your comment, both Filia and the non-canon joke character Fukua (a figurative and literal clone of Filia) use hair-like Parasites named Samson and Shamone, respectively.

Hope this helps.

The comic's cover for reference, because a comic cover has never lied before:

Also cute how she's taken the name Spinneret, just /barely/ avoiding that trademark confusion.
That's from Renew your Vows which is set in a alternate universe where Peter and MJ's kid is still around and a guy called the Regent enacted a plot to kidnap all Super heroes and keep them giant glass tubes so he could borrow there powers. Spider-Man managed to stop him some how and made MJ a suit that allows her to borrow his powers. In this issues MJ goes to Liz Allen and asks for help getting her own powers so she doesn't drain Peters, what she gets is the Venom Symbiote.
So no the cover does not lie.

Marvel HATES Mary Jane. This has been public knowledge for a long time.

Yeah, but they love her ass.

So does the psuodo-symbiote still have clothing transformation powers, or is it just all bodysuit, all the time? I suppose it'll still take them another issue or two before the VERY OBVIOUSLY BAD IDEA blows up in their faces.

Oh geeze is spider-girl going to become a pint-sized Carnage?

"Marvel" doesn't, a small number of well placed people, like Joe Quesada who created Carlie Cooper (named after his daughter) specifically to be Peter's new girl, who work at Marvel dislike her and hate Peter Parker being married because they feel it ages him, it limits the stories that can be told and/or they'd rather he hook up with some one else. Also they want Peter Parker to be a constantly down on his luck looser who just barely scraps by because that how they think of him.
Basically it's a matter of "they changed it, so now i hate it" and people with authority doing what THEY WANT f***k the fans/readers. They want THERE Spider-man and they are going to keep him that way not matter how little sense it makes or how tried people are of Peter always being so down on his luck.
