Re: Transformations That I Found While Searching
Here are a few more pictures of the chicken, goat, pig, and donkey. Most are self explanatory, but the ones of Elizabeth (E.G.) Daily, who plays Aunt Netty (the woman who turns into a donkey), show her getting the donkey makeup applied and having casts taken of her hands and entire head. We can see her with hooves in the video, but hopefully having an entire head cast means that there will be a much more advanced phase of her transformation, since the prosthetics we’ve seen so far have only included teeth and hooves.

Wow these are such a great find! I'm amazed at how much you've been able to dig up on this film as I have been searching as well and have not found much in regards to the makeup.
It's definitely looking like you're right though - there is likely going to be some sort of process involved with the scene based on how much work they're putting into the makeup along with those tracking dots for the CG. |

Re: Transformations That I Found While Searching
Yeah I was surprised to see the sheep woman didn't have any makeup or prosthetics on like the others. I guess they're gonna completely CG her face. I also thought it was a little surprising that not all of the family members at the table, aside from the main character, are being portrayed as animals...just a select few.
I really wish this thing would get it's distribution finalized so they can release it. Sounds like it's been making the festival circuit for a couple of years now. |

Re: Transformations That I Found While Searching
It’s possible they’ll change a few at a time – so the chicken, goat, and pig start first, then are a bit more developed when the donkey and sheep start, then maybe those are more developed too in time for a few others to begin. We’ve seen live chickens and a goat on set, so probably at least those characters end up as whole animals – and I’ve seen several pictures of E.G. Daily posed with a donkey, although I don’t know if they’re from shooting this film or just random pictures from her work as an animal activist.
But ‘Yellow’ is indeed still on the convention circuit, and will next be shown at the Florida Film Festival on April 4-13 – so anyone from the board that is interested in that area will have a chance to see it (it’s listed as being the ‘east coast premiere’, so they may be planning to work their way up the coast before this sees a DVD release). Actual showtimes for ‘Yellow’ are Wednesday, April 9th at 6:30 pm and Saturday, April 12th at 2:30 pm, both at the Regal Winter Park Village A location, which is at 510 North Orlando Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789. More information about the film festival is here: http://www.floridafilmfestival.com/p...program-lineup |

Re: Transformations That I Found While Searching
Very good point! At the very least, it looks like there will definitely be some progression of the characters from human to animal, so it's not just a couple of camera cuts and then done. The mixture of dialogue and animal sounds is a great touch as well.
Thanks for the heads up about it still making the festival rounds. I imagine it'll finally get released in the summer or fall. |

Re: Transformations That I Found While Searching
A couple more videos with information about the transformation scene –
Tanya Cornelisse, who plays Starla (the woman who turns into a goat) has a demo reel of several of her films. 3:05-3:50 is from the beginning of the ‘Yellow’ dinner scene – there’s no TF content shown, just the family members arguing in the lead-up to it, but it appears to be finished footage. E.G. Daily, the woman who turns into a donkey, is briefly interviewed by one of her cast mates on the last day of shooting the dinner scene, in which she describes the animal makeup as taking ‘two and a half hours’ to apply. Again, there’s no TF content in this video, but she implies that the scene took several days to film (“and then we have to shoot our farm animal scene again”). |

Re: Transformations That I Found While Searching
Very interesting! It's sounding like it's a pretty long scene. Awesome!!
Hopefully, all of it makes the final cut and doesn't end up on the cutting room floor. |

Re: Transformations That I Found While Searching
I finally found some of the ‘Yellow’ CGI effects! The company making them, Prime Focus World, has a breakdown reel of several of their VFX, which includes a few seconds of the dinner scene. From 1:20 through 1:40, the video shows some of the actresses in their CGI appearance, specifically Melanie Griffith as the sheep and E.G. Daily as the donkey. It even shows us the donkey ears growing (unfortunately, the only actual TF it shows, which is very quick) as well as her whole head replaced with a donkey head!
I’ve attached screencaps of the clip that shows the animals. The full breakdown reel can be downloaded at: http://193.203.64.36/sites/default/f...7201312345.mp4 |
