Re: More general 'increased beauty'
Except this comic doesn't draw that distinction.
It basically implies that every feminist is a fat uggo who's too lazy to do anything positive in their life, and that if they magically became thin and pretty they'd discard feminism like a used hankie. See also "Now THAT'S female empowerment!" in the last panel. The comic isn't just making fun of radical leftists. It's mocking all of feminism and all fat people. It's vicious and crude. And again, the artist's comments strongly suggest this is how he really sees the world. At least when I make fun of Trump I'm limiting it to one man and basing my ridicule on things that man has actually done.

Re: More general 'increased beauty'
it's not even any sort of unique or interesting criticism of feminism and/or feminists. it's the same boring shit you see time and time again. it's this kind of stuff and some posts i've seen recently on other sites that have made me really second-guess my fetishes.
edit: there's nothing more annoying than some white dude talking about how awful feminism is. Last edited by UnknownOrange; 06-20-2017 at 08:37 PM. |

Re: More general 'increased beauty'
Could I perhaps request to keep the politics out of the content forums? You guys had your politics thread to call each other names in and you all decided to get rid of it. If you wanna go have a political discussion go have it over at the dA page of the image; most people here don't come here for that. I'm not speaking to anyone in particular.

Looked that up...well played
And if there was art on CornFedGirl...I'd like to see it myself. Keep the comments restricted to the art, not each other. Dislike the message of the comic or support it. No calling each other out.

Film star Daniel Day-Lewis retires from acting. Seconds after his name pops up in a fetish forum, dude calls it a day.

I second the notion of keeping politics out of this forum section. Go to the area dedicated or take it up in private inbox with your petty squabbles and leave it out of this.

1. The piece itself is political. 2. The discussion has been about the piece and the artist, without "petty squabbles" between users here. 3. A moderator has said that the discussion is okay as long as it sticks to the piece and doesn't involve personal attacks...and now a second moderator is agreeing with him.

4. My opinion is, by definition, the only one that matters.
What is that opinion? Wouldn't you like to know! Muhuhahahahahahahahahahahaha! |

Re: More general 'increased beauty'
Ugh, when it comes to discussions on gender politics of all things I find it best to take a step back and ask yourself a few questions before arguing.
1. Do you think you have the time, patience, and debate skills to actually change anyone's mind about anything through posting? 2. Even if, somehow you managed to do so, do you think that you would change it far enough for it to make any difference in any person's life, or would they more likely discard the thought shortly? 3. If your intent is not to change anyone's mind, why bother with it at all? 4. How much effort would such an attempt require, and what else could you do with that time that is potentially more productive? 5. Most important: Is this really the hill you want to die on? I have made my stances clear before so obviously I'm no stranger to political (and gender political) discussions. But all things considered, I look at the comic and I am not sure it is not meant to be an ironic exaggeration of anti-feminist comics. I mean, what is it even trying to say? The only argument I'm going to give about women supposedly being like the one in the comic is this: My experience says otherwise. That's it. That's all I can say. Anything more is something I don't have any sort of proof for. And on another note, I would recommend this simple view of it: This comic isn't about all women just because it has one woman in it. So maybe instead the comic is just saying "This woman is shallow and selfish" instead of "All women are shallow and selfish." But if I were to hazard a guess the artist is probably just kind of a dick who likes to be "edgy" and wants to get a rise out of people. Anyway, I'm tired. Don't like the premise, the characters, and the art is not great anyway for what is essentially a poof process. It is IB though, which is my favorite process, so a find nonetheless. |
