Well, again, my big issue isn't whether or not he's like Falcon anymore, but the fact that he doesn't fight (or look, for that matter, in 4) like himself at all. I still don't consider either a clone. Ganon, Falco, and Roy are semi, the three new ones introduced and Toon Link (though he might be able to go into semi) are full-on ones, and Luigi, Wolf, and Lucas aren't.

Ganondorf needs his Energy Ball that you can hit back with a well timed attack (just like OOT).

He also needs his sword (which...granted....he never actually USED them ingame until Wind Waker and even then he used two scimitars there, not his big two hander).

If anything...they should give him the TRIDENT as an homage to the old-school Ganon.

Yeah. My ideal one would be a combination of magic and trident, pulling out the latter for big moves like smashes. Not really fond of sword!Ganon, tbh, but that'd still be far better than Captain Falcon's fat dad. I'm just used to the older ones, where he was either a demonic pig or a sorcerer. If he has to have a sword, at least make him dual wield, like in OoT, WW, and HW.

Honestly, not one of the characters I expected. Still, I'm not complaining. It all looks beautiful! Though, I'm wondering why they didn't get Steve Burton to provide his English voice. I mean, it's not like Marth and Roy, who didn't have (and still don't?) English voice actors at the time. Maybe it was just a personal decision.

He did just only just get shown off. It was probably footage from the Japanese version, and he'll have Burton in English.

I'm still salty that got Lloyd Irving only as a Mii outfit. The fact that not even a Namco rep, but a completely different bishie swordsman that absolutely NO ONE predicted and didn't set foot on a Nintendo console until now just irks me.

Well, Cloud is also pretty much THE bishie swordsman. Much as I don't like that he's in, he was the only logical choice for someone for SE to put in, because he's, well, Cloud.
