Actually, Mystique's powers have upgraded so that her shapeshifting is no longer limited by her own mass anymore. She can now literally become as heavy or light as she needs to be, as well as create things like tentacles, wings, or simple weapons.

In other words, "conservation of matter" no longer applies to Mystique.

Conservation of matter only applies to chemical reactions anyway. There's no accounting for shapeshifting or hulking out, Marvel long ago came up with the explanation that additional mass is drawn from another dimension or shunted into it.

Very good avatar choice Sarachan, but does anyone know which issue the old Mrs Marvel (now Captain Marvel I think) suddenly became a blue hulked out version of herself because of her powers freaking out? Also found the whole collection of Hulked Out Heroes and eh... no good girl hulks there...

No I don't have that issue but here's a scan from planet hulk, not great but here is the people turning into hulks.
