Dull elfs were never my favorite breed. They're not the sharpest and always had trouble dealing with the Blunt Elves even though they were stoned all the god damn time.

I'm going to have to agree with some of LKs points. If you don't have a product you shouldn't be asking for the money. We have seen to many projects come and go. And I believe I'm still owed a clip or two from the last crowd funded effort that got traction on this site. Maybe if there were more info. Or you had some mock ups, story outline something. I'd be more interested. But crowd funding and pre-ordering digital goods just leaves a bad taste in lots of people's mouths.

As far as the project is concerned, no matter how tempting the idea is, I don't consider it a wise investment. Monthly payments for a single comic you have no way of knowing will be finished. Only rewards being timed exclusives. Buyer beware doesn't even begin to describe it.

I understand that, and how projects shown here tend to fall apart, like a curse or something.

The only reasons I don't show any sketches or a layout of the story, is because those cost money to commission them. And, doing that WHILE working on my ongoing comic series is a challenge of its own, when you have limited money to work with.

I'm not a good artist, by any means. I ALWAYS commission my ideas to artists who do them...and I pick carefully, cause in worst-case-scenarios, some can run away with the money and I won't even see the commissioned art at all. I've even seen some that can just abandon it, without saying a word.

So, if you were me, how would you get this off the ground properly, when you got an ongoing comic series still going?

It is almost like handing money over to another person without a guarantee is inherently risky. If only there was some kind of, I don't know, legally-enforcable document that each party could sign which would bind each party to their stated promises?

Wait, that would require exchanging personal information. That'll never work.

Save for it, pay for it, then publish it. You haven't turned your reputation into something you can bank on. Quite the opposite given your past practices.
