I hope Claremont still has his EC mojo. I'm not sure what he's been up to lately. Last edited by Mazoku; 01-27-2012 at 05:59 PM. |

Wondering how long it would take you to get the batsignal.
On another note, give me another couple days on VGQ demo, it's been insane around here.

Re: Evil conversion(for the lack for better term)
This is why you guys need to move onto the francobelgian comics where "superheroes which see Xth amount of revivals taken to eleven" is a phenomenon barely existant
In fact, superheroes themselves are pretty much nonexistant in francobelgian comics. Pretty much, of those I own, if someone has supernatural abilities chances will be that it's a villain("I am Legion" 's Anna Anslea and Victor Thorpe, I'm looking at you two http://www.comicvine.com/i-am-legion/49-25743/ . As for this comic, it doesn't see "evil conversion" in the classical senses, but does see some amount of possession(which isn't a big spoiler considering how quickly it is hinted at). For those really looking at satisfying a desire to see female example of such, though, you might be disapointed as there really is only one toward the end, and it's a rather short deal. Personally I mostly only liked it for the tale, though some people not exposed to the francobelgian tradition of comics might find it.... "wordy". ). Re: Evil conversion(for the lack for better term)
I'm reminded of this one comic i own called "Common Grounds" about a coffee shop chain where heroes and villains have a truce. The founder created it after his son was killed due to a miscommunication, and he still holds out hope years and years (after the man who killed him has served his prison sentence and been reduced to a bum on the street) later that his son can come back.
Unfortunately the tone of the story is that his son has one or both of the only types of American comic book deaths that are irreversible: 1) Death by Origin story (origin of Common Grounds), and 2) C-List fodder (his son was a bright eyed rookie) |

Like "Snowglare" said here before comics these days are often nothing more than glorified fan fiction. It really is like fanboys have taken over large parts of the business. Kill-offs and re-imaginings are really usually just cheap substitutes for real creativity. That reminds me, I saw this on the MC Forum; "Vampire Cheerleaders": http://www.gomanga.com/manga/vampirecheerleaders.php Last edited by Mazoku; 01-27-2012 at 06:00 PM. |
