the writers Hasbro and others used in the 80s had a real obsession with Lovecraftian type monsters. Watching reruns of Heman on Qubo I noticed that Heman fights horrors and demons from other dimensions with startling frequency. GI Joe featured such horrors as did transformers and My little pony. The only show where it at least made sense was Real Ghost Busters, then they also fought Chutullu, and not a stand in, it was him.

Lots of G4 Pony Fanfiction features corruption, Twilight Sparkle and Celestia being the most common targets.

Humm lets see... the problem is the exact titles escape me on most of them. I know that's not terribly helpful. Celestia becoming corrupted, Twilight becoming and Alicorn(corrupted and other wise) are common themes in FIM fics Human In Equestria is the most common followed by Luna's transformation into Nightmare Moon.

A fic called "The Empty Room" features both Celestia and Twilight being corrupted, though Twilight's turns out to be much more convoluted.

http://ciroton.deviantart.com/ wrote a story called Sunset which doesn't feature corruption really but does have transformation brought on by a mental break down.

actually female cartoon horses, but enough splitting hairs. Non-human females doesn't make it not process. it was on topic for this thread.
