Re: Forgotten God (In-Dev BE-RPG)
MMmmm I think pettanko should be a little more... angry, or at least cross. I love the halo design and hair colors but she doesnt scream "ANTAGONIST" to me. The horns and the halo kinda countradict. May have been the origional intent but its more distracting and obvious like "oh, she's the bad guy" accessory. Now if she had two hair curls up on her head and a malicious mother knows whats best for you all expression that would be pretty creepy. But still its much better than what I can ever do. Also I love the business suit GREAT CHOICE ^_^

Re: Forgotten God (In-Dev BE-RPG)
I like the similarites betweeen cedyll and pettanko, also I like the stark contrast in attire. Armor and cape are great but I would think she would be more of a "cloak" kinda character. Kinda hides in the shadows of this flat chested loving society until BAM! HERE I AM AWESOME SWORD SKILL BOUT TO KILL YOU ALL WHOTCHAAAAAAAAAA! TAKE THAT STATUE!!! Still its very nicely revealing I would love to see how her and pettanko develop

Re: Forgotten God (In-Dev BE-RPG)
I think I kind of like the idea of divinities in the game wearing modern formal or business attire, though I personally am not as much a fan of the whole fancy halo and demon/angel wings thing. For giving them divine traits other than their attire, I'd recommend doing something with the eyes, like unusual iris colors or shapes, or solid-colored eyes or something. You could even do something like a swirling pattern on the skin that's a subtly different shade from their normal skin color, like slightly lighter.
Certain priestesses and other followers could even paint similar markings on their own skin to show their faith and their rank within their order, which would in turn serve as an interesting way to visually gauge your progress in spreading the BE faith as more NPCs start wearing body paint or clothes that mimic your skin pattern. I guess I'm just trying to say that the character designs for gods in the game may benefit more from using more unique and subtle visual cues for their divinity than the typical and over-utilized Christian symbolism. |

Re: Forgotten God (In-Dev BE-RPG)
@Mondoman: Cloak sounds like a good idea. She will have a growing bust - she will have to hide it somehow!
@Ahzi: I was thinking of using the more unused Christian symbolism such as associated objects and the sort - but again, that might be too cliché again. I was thinking of having divine magic appear to be like Sci-Fi holographic panels that are controlled to summon effects, and have divine spell-books be formal agendas or some other posh book of the sort. Then, priests and the sort would dress like accountants and secretaries or something like a combination between a white-collar worker and some feudal attire. Anyway. I got a draft done during the weekend, one of Cedylle close-up and another of "mini" BE-God. I think I gave Cedylle too much of a serious look, but I dunno. |

Re: Forgotten God (In-Dev BE-RPG)
Playing with Unity~ (I'm still working on CGF though, I just felt like taking a break and toying around with this little thing :P)
![]() Edit: Also played a bit with Blender after dinner. Looks like fun. Still, this is far from being actually done. Cow girl farmer comes first. ![]() Linking this guys tutorial because it looks great and because I'm going to have to learn it sooner or later. Last edited by CuddleBeam; 09-23-2013 at 11:22 AM. |

Re: Forgotten God (In-Dev BE-RPG)
I did a little tiny teeny weeny demo thingy of the walking and such through a little spooky graveyard for giggles.
Arrowkeys to move, and that's pretty much it lol. ![]() Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?mxiv4yyybppc9q4 Ironically, making a game a la Dark Souls would be easier than traditional turn-based RPG. :I Should I go Dark Souls or turn-based? Last edited by CuddleBeam; 10-01-2013 at 02:20 AM. |
