I'd say watch the movie from the beginning so you have context. It'll be much more satisfying that way.

An update - previously I purchased and re-sold the original release asian version several months ago. I just purchased the digital HD version on Amazon to support Mako's future endeavors.
Best, -C Edit : A bit irritating to find out that my video card doesn't support HDMI despite being connected by HDMI-DVI cable to my display - so I can't watch the HD version at the moment. I watched this on primewire though i must say there was a ton of hate for it on there and i was skeptical though most the reviews where from people who felt offended by it (transers from the comments). I found it to be exceptionally well done especially the transformation scene.
