Actually if you look at the window he is at the same height in the beginning as she is in the end.

i don't know anything about raccoons, but in a lot of animal species the female is larger than the male

that remidnds me of the miyazaki movie pom pom poko where a tribe of tanuuki (raccoon creatures) where they use their shapeshifting abilities to drive humans away from there homes . . . its as though in this case the change was unwanted . .
