Synopsis: When the real prankster fairy Puck turns up at a production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, he decides to play a trick of his own on the actors playing the lovers lost in the woods. With every height reference, the tall woman becomes taller, and the short woman shrinks – and there are a lot of references to her character’s shortness. But the show must go on, and the actress must grow down...

Sorry, but it is just kind of Meh. All the shots are so wide that we can't see the subject well, and then she doesn't want to break character so the dialog and action isn't much either. Then it gets into the bedroom and it is the same old penis, making her seem like a cypher instead of a person. And yet another "to be continued"! Totally unnecessary in this case. You've got so many unfinished series, let us be surprised if something actually does continue.

A face can say so much more than words. I don't recall a proper closeup of anyone in this story other than Loki.

So what is ShrinkFan's position on using AI art? I know a lot of artists are up in arms about it. But my experience is that using it is much harder than it first appears - particularly if you need consistency across images and the ability to show what the script says. But the resulting quality and quantity is amazing.

Doing SW art directly seems to be hard - the AI can't seem to wrap it's mind around the idea. The pic I posted a few panels above is my mod that took about an hour. The one below is as-is on DeviantArt.

DeviantArt has really exploded thanks to AI. It seems to be that keeping up with the latest tools is essential to any artist.

I've got nothing to do with Shrinkfan (obviously), but I am interested in SW art (also obviously). Hope you don't mind me sharing my thoughts on the subject.

First of all I have nothing against the tech itself. I think it's very interesting what these programs are able to achieve. I also think it raises some questions about derivative works. Which I also think is not a bad thing at all.

That being said, I’ve yet to see truly impressive SW art made by AI. Or much impressive AI art in general. Scrolling through DA has become less interesting; because it’s almost like everyone uses the same art style and poses. These programs need to become a little more creative and distinct.
I enjoy recognizing artists styles in a piece. Toyogub’s style is very unique, even West who does seem to be inspired by Toyogub has a very distinct style. That to me is a big part in the appeal in their work. AI doesn’t have that distinct appeal and it’s not impressive enough to stand out. Of course this problem is compounded by the sheer volume of AI generated art. One Mona Lisa is a impressive work. But if you see thousands of Mona Lisa’s with slight variations even the original will start to look less impressive.

I would love to be impressed by AI art, but I don’t think it’s there yet.

I recognize what you are saying, but to me the good far outweighs the bad. Many figures are so gorgeous, I don't care that they aren't shrunk. I just want to be them and live their life in their fantasy settings.



I am able to recognize the style of some of the better AI artists. There are series that clearly belong together. But some artist can suddenly change from one style to a radically different one. There is lots of growth and innovation happening quickly, and I think the flaws will be lessened as the artists gain more skill.

Remember, right now there is no such thing as an AI artist with even a full year of experience. Imagine what pics will look like when these artists get good.

There's no such thing as an "AI artist."

All there are are people typing words to tell an art theft program what images to copy and slightly remix.

Now. Can you get some genuinely gorgeous, high-quality images by doing that? Sure. But it's not art, and neither the theft algorithm nor the person directing it is an artist.

Then why is it "art" when a human does the same thing? Why do those pics move me, while Midsummer Nightmare seems like such a tired retread?

No need to hate on the artists, but it's probably because it's closer up and more personable on purpose and AI uses mostly pleasing (very similar each time) art styles

Telling a story is mostly a fourth party act. We are observers, not the observed.

The AI art when the characters stare back is 'observing' you.

It also doesn't help that the Shrinkfan shrinking stories tend to head very quickly to micro or near micro sizes. (to me, anything under barbie size is micro. At that point perspective gets too wacked for me. I prefer the 2-3 foot size range)

I thought the plot was interesting for the story but I am turned off at so many stories involving shrinking woman penis worship.

But that's because I'm a lesbian.

I get that guys find that stuff hot I think, it just seems that's always the thing to happen though.

If there's a guy who's the romantic interest, the shrunken person is obsessed with giant penis. It's basically binary code at this point.

I just don't understand giant penis envy.


And then when we get sexual stories with lesbians half the time they are either bisexual stories which involve giant penis worship or predatory stories which really unnerves me due to the predatory lesbian trope (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.p.../PsychoLesbian)

Needs more loving lesbian relationship shrinking.

I don't mean to hate on the artists. I found that kind of work amazingly slow and frustrating, and haven't done any recently. I also tried downloading DefusionBee and found it nearly useless. (I once generated a usable foot, but that is it.). So I respect people who have success with either method.

Oh yes. And they are exactly the same every time, so I found Qzar's criticism of AI being "copy and slightly remix" as needing a rebuttal.

Do guys really like looking at other guy's penisis? I've seen that played for punchline-horror enough to suspect that most don't. Maybe Shrink Fan could do a poll?

I like adventure stories where the heroes try to be good people and learn to work together... while stuck naked.

Well, I MIGHT have an idea for a story with possible lesbian elements, but said idea is still VERY early in development, and I haven't even heard back from Shrink Fan regarding my pitch for my first comic yet, so I'm not even sure I'm considered qualified to comment here...
