A Little Entry for TMC's Script-To-Clip Contest
So anyone who's been following the Everything Else sub-forum knows that Taylor Made Clips (TMC) and Rei-Lin are running a Script-To-Clip Contest for the New Year. Members are encouraged to submit ideas for a script that TMC, in collaboration with audience feedback, will film.
Unlike the Highlander and the Immortals, there will be 3 winners in this contest. So people have been busy both here and on the TMC forum. Naturally, many of the submissions have been TF, GTS, or BE-related. But as soon as I saw the contest thread, the wheels in my head began turning and a germ of an idea began to form... I've always liked TMC's collaboration with Lorekeep on their sole SW video (2009's "A Little Revenge") and wanted to write something which could return them to that arena with a bang. Last night I finished and posted my entry: "Drink to Shrink". As of this writing, it's the first and only SW-entry in the contest and I'm very happy with how it's turned out. Despite the similar title, this is not related to the un-produced 'Drink 'N Shrink' script I wrote a few years back. I may have borrowed elements of the concept, even a piece or two of dialogue. But these are two completely different characters as well as a new (and IMO, stronger) story. I also tried to be a little more ambitious with the direction this time around. However, the main key in my development of the concept and script was to create a concept that is not too expensive or too technically challenging for TMC. Everything can be accomplished practically and on set with a combination or forced perspective, clever angles and direction, and of course, baggy clothing. I know it's been a while since TMC did SW and I don't know how it'll fare when we proceed to the selection phase after the deadline. Even if doesn't make the cut, it was fun writing it and after getting Rei-Lin's permission, I just wanted to share it with you guys as my own, heh, little gift for the Holidays. Enjoy! Awesome script, I had no idea TMC was accepting scripts for vids, I've got a whole pile of them

Nice script, I'd love to see it make the cut. Although you did misplace a couple of names toward the end. I think there's a "Keiko" and an "Andrea" where there should be "Erin."

"This job is definitely not worth eleven-five a year!"

At one point, Erin was going be Keiko, that she was a exchange student from Japan, etc. There was also going to be an optional antidote that Keiko supplied, but which I eliminated as being too complicated. Ultimately, I'll do one more pass before midnight on Monday. Quote:
Seriously, if you've got them lying around, then you've got until midnight on January 1st to enter them in the Contest thread. Just prep them with the format Rei-Lin specified in the thread (and which you saw in the attachment). There's no limit to the number of entries; I have another idea or two gestating myself, but I think this will be enough. Also, a full-length script isn't needed as a breakdown will do. In my case, I did it since... 1.) TMC's only done SW once and I was trying to be as helpful from a technical POV. 2). The dialogue in there is stuff I personally want to hear coming from a SW video. As you can probably guess, Erin's was the most fun to write. Last edited by Nom Anor; 12-29-2012 at 11:00 PM. |

Re: A Little Entry for TMC's Script-To-Clip Contest
I just might make a submission, I have a script with a similar concept (two women, one enjoys the other panics) I could easily format. The only thing is, that the reason TMC has only done shrinking once is because it's not as popular with the community there as it is here. And I firmly believe that passion for the subject matter is important for an artist or filmmaker if they hope to make something great.

But, like I said, I always enjoyed "A Little Revenge" and that factored into how I wrote the script. I tried to add stuff that would go over well (sexy women shrinking out of their clothes, hot dialogue, etc.). I've got one additional scenario that I might submit before the deadline, something that will cover multiple fetish arenas. Even if doesn't make the cut, like I said it was fun writing it and I'm glad the Process SW community's enjoying it. I recommend just trying to enter it for the hell of it. You never know...
