Why BE content is hard.

We live in an age where everyone can push a button on their phone and things from the outside world come to you (food, rides, items, entertainment), so it makes it difficult to appreciate how much effort has gone into making those conveniences.

So to goes the BE fetish realm. Bambi Blaze was lightyears ahead of game and when she burst onto the scene, it was glorious to behold. MaxGrowth and Taylor upped the ante with different actors and types of growth which they're still putting out to this day at a non-zero cost to their bottom line each time they do this. When I had the pleasure of working with Lilith on our 5 part Software Upgrade series though, I'd done so with the idea of scratching an itch I had about the BE content not really doing a good enough job of making us 'feel' what the model does (which is important when watching BE...if we can't feel the pressure building for her, it's just us watching someone get bigger boobs in a prop).

To this day, I still notice people referring to Lilith as one of the penultimate BE creators and I would agree. Sans props, she makes the viewer 'feel' her struggle to stay clothed, the weight of her growing breasts and the panic of them getting tighter and tighter. It was always my desire to see her team up with an outfit like Taylor to see what she could do with her performances AND a prop together, but so far that seems a pipe dream.

As someone who's dipped in and out of making BE content since '92, I've grown largely bored with the barrage of quick 'BE' content. Comics that have a character grow in only 3-6 panels (I'm looking at you Expansion Fans, BE Story Club) are creating 'Instant Boobs' content (which I'm sure there's a market for). However true BE in my opinion needs to take time to develop, to allow us to know the changes that are happening with the character. In writing class in college, my professor mentioned constantly to us that we should always imagine that the reader wants to 'become' the main character, to understand what they are seeing/feeling/hearing/tasting/thinking.

Ludella's actually started putting out some quite good clips now and then when she's helped make her situation come to life with good editing and dialog happening during her growth sequences. It's been refreshing to see, but sadly the majority of the other content out there is mostly a girl sitting in front of a camera, saying 'oooh, yeah baby' like she lifted dialog from an 80's porno and bouncing some balloons/prop up and down.

I wrote a BE guide specifically to help select performers learn 'how' to make better BE, but only a handful of them actually took to it (which, honestly is fine...you have to really like BE to make good BE...like Lilith and Ludella clearly do).

Demora's content is home grown, honest attempts at her exploring this rather new fetish for her. We can all relate to those first magical times when we found content that spoke to us and the hunger for more of the same. I believe Demora's got the chops to make it to Lilith's level in terms of classic BE clip content, but now that she's amazingly large in real life (like Lilith), it makes pulling off 'more' visual growth that much harder. Lilith does a stellar job with dialog and acting. Demora hopefully will dive into this more in the future as it would be a crying shame to not have the diva of actual BE really shine with her new form in some next-level BE clips, but it really comes down to passion to create it.

I'm constantly looking for talent that I can motivate me to craft more content for them and in turn, they can create more content for us all. But currently, I'm still hunting. It takes magic to make all this click and a good heart/passion from everyone involved to make something timeless like Mood Boobs. But if you're like me and you 'know' that really great BE is likely lurking around the bend if the right mix of talent and content meet up, you'll keep scanning the web hoping to be there when it hits the scene just like when Bambi did for us all which inspired many others to take a crack at it. We just need that one 'perfect' clip.

Re: Why BE content is hard.

I think Madz is trying to make quality BE content but she isn't that comfortable in front of the camera. I don't think she can comfortable work with a script. But some of her content even if they don't have much acting can be quiet good "Hocus Pocus Sex Dream" stands out. bigbadbee is just getting into BE content she just made herself an inflatable rig (this week) so that's some dedication. She's comfortable in front of the camera but she admits she is still figuring out how to make BE content.

Re: Why BE content is hard.

Is this guide currently available? I found a link in an old post but it's no longer active.

I agree that Lillith is one of the best and I enjoyed the project you did with her. She could act and carry a plot. She pulled off the illusion of growth well but I agree that if she had props it would be a dream come true.
Have you thought of doing reviews? Or, if that's too much work, what about a thread here where you suggest a work and then guide a discussion over it's merits?

Thanks for sharing your insights.

I actually did consider this, but I’d rather spend my time trying to speak directly to creators prior to their work starting vs poking at it afterwards in the fear it might demotivate them.

My dude, that's all you got on your Patreon page?!?

But seriously thank your for making it. I'm very thankful you are still around and making content.

That's a good primer and I definitely consider "The Mistake" to be a foundational piece.

Other than Lillith, what collaborations have you had and how has the experience been?

Overall, I was very happy with how Portal Comic interpreted my own scripts, though there was no communication beyond what I'd put on the page.

I think I've had three clips done by Taylor and they all were changed to such an extent that I myself didn't even enjoy them.

Re: Why BE content is hard.

An extra bit of praise for Lilith is that she does some genuinely funny videos too. Boob Cop, for example. It's not transformation in an way so I guess many won't have watched it but I found it to be massively fun to watch which is a rare bonus.

On the general topic, I feel the same way. That's why the tantalising prospect of a Mood Boobs follow up has gotten my hopes way too high

Re: Why BE content is hard.

What do you think the magnum opus of breast expansion clips would be?

One of my favorite ones is Maxgrowth: Bridezille and boobage.

Koa was my favorite model out of that group. But I felt like the narrative framing in that one was pretty nice maxed with the level of denial.

Re: Why BE content is hard.

Magnum opus. Good question.

- multiple cast members who can all act
- a solid lead who you just ‘want’ to see blow up just from looking at her once. For me, shy is a shy, innocent, slightly chubby girl who’s already self-conscious about her C or D cups.
- a great script that has meaningful descriptive content that helps build the tension before every button and stitch pops.
- great camera work to capture multiple angles so the editor has a lot to work with
- FUCKING MUSIC! Come on, we need music or tracks to help build the scenes. Along with supportive SFX
- like Optimist’s work, a splash of CG would help for some of the close ups
- pacing, pacing, pacing. BE is a tease. Too slow and we get bored. Too fast and it’s disappointing. This is a Waygu Ribeye, take your time and do it right. Show it to a group of people first and then edit accordingly (too many are rushed out)
- plan ahead for multiple clips. Drop some hints of upcoming changes or plot lines so I can grow to know the characters more.

I mean, who doesn’t see a girl like this and wonder ‘Man, wouldn’t it be something if she just grew a few more cup sizes right now?

Yo, Doc. I meant to speak with you before about BE customs and models I've worked with, but never got around to it. Do you have an email you can be reached at?

Re: Why BE content is hard.

Those ideas sound good.

It reminds me of Mood Boobs. It does have me questioning, can make a high-quality BE short film and get a return on your investment.

Across the community, everyone has their strong suits. Some are really great in front of the camera some have incredible props and others have really good story ideas. I did that if Size Con became a regular thing each year that it would let to a mega collaboration project. Pulling everyone's strengths together.
