More general 'increased beauty'

There's no actual process in it, but the "Twilight Zone" episode "Number Twelve Looks Just Like You" was probably one of my first exposures to the concept of beautification.

The episode is from the original 1960s series, so it's in black-and-white -- but here, from a 1963 issue of TV Guide, is Suzy Parker in all of her costumes from the episode, in color.
