Is it just me or may this be the time when a proper producer/director might come forth to take Neon Genesis Evangelion away? Because that's been stalled enough as it is.

Yeah, producers love to hop on bandwagons just like how we're going through a barrage of comic book movies (which seem to be dwindling now ). But a Robotech movie sounds like it'd be awesome! A DBZ movie sounds cool but it might just end up being a flashy but pointless fight movie like Jet Li's The One.

There are lots of cool stuff you could do in a Robotech movie. I liked that opening scene in the Battlecry playstation game where it was you in your VF defending the SDF in space, and you could see the whole armada of zentradi ships encircling the earth. If they have something like that or some good action sequences it will be cool. I hope they don't spend the whole movie setting up Rick Hunter for his Lisa Hays/Lin Minme love triangle.

Though I bet the Battle Angel Alita movie may work. What with the director being James Cameron (Terminator).

Also, they are making a live action Gatchaman movie.

While we're listing 80's properties becoming movies, lets not forget Thundercats.

It'd have to be CG. No way you could have actors dressed up like the guys from the musical Cats... that'd just look strange.

There's just one uncertainty.... In an old interview I remember them mentioning he were going to limit the amount of gore or make the blood typically android-ish (green?) to be able to pull down the age restrictions on the movie.

Doing that to a comic adaption where the comic was really raw in its places is incredibly stupid and might break the whole feeling. After all, Battle Angel Alita was a pretty messy comic gore wise and removing that would remove an essential part of it. Having gore is a part of the realism and that's what I liked in BAA - you had a sense of the materials and how they acted and that everyone wasn't utterly invincible.

It might look something like.. this!

It's a bit cheesy, but the makeup on Lion-o doesn't look half bad. I wouldnt mind watchin real actors done up by someone with a real makeup budget.

AAAAAIIIIIIEEEEE!

Macross was my first anime and it's still one of my favorites! I didn't like the subsequent two parts of the series as much.

How does Transformers have any connection to this? If you even watch for 5 minutes you'll see the series couldn't be any more different. (Never liked transformers.)
transformers was based off this series, so with out robotech transformers would never had exsited[ and I'm talking about the orignal transformerrs series]

True, but still I get a better feeling with him directing a better adaptation that what most directors might do with it. : /

"Live action CG."
Translation: Your guess is as good as mine.
