Rendezvous With Rama

I see that they're going to make Arthur C Clarke's novel into a film. Let's hope that it doesn't cop the usual Hollywood treatment.

It's about some guy who has an appointment to meet a japanese martial artist who turns into a girl when splashed with cold water. And his father turns into a panda.

Actually, it has nothing to do with Ranma 1/2.

It's a book about a massive space ship in the earth's Solar System.

They will have to do some drastic changes to the script, otherwise it will be more booring then 2001: A space oddessy and without the ominous black monoliths.
