I strongly disagree. Missuse of gradient tool would be more acurate. I could see some usage to using it to add texture to an image (though I personally would prefer hand done textures when dealing with living organisms as they are more organic), but I have never seen a fox with a tail textured like sandpaper before. Textures however not always necessary.

Would you mind explaining what you mean by miss use of the gradient tool? I assume your talking about the multiple uses of colors on the foxgirl clothing. Also all of my work is computer digital drawl by my hands and mouse not pen, because that’s my style.

Most likely I'm going to look into shadowing by hand Tutorials and bleeding colors together by hand Tutorials, because you’re not the first to say something about the gradient tool. Anyone what’s to point out some in use with Photoshop Tutorials?

Still I am very happy with this work in took long hours and came better then anything I’ve done in the past. I just happen to really love the cute style behind her. Then there’s the backdrop which I'm so cheerful about. Never did my own backdrops last year, it really adds a flavor to the picture!

Not going to disagree about the Fox tail fur, I am still experimenting with it in truth. For some odd reason the Ears look more fury with this texture but it didn't help the tail.

Did you at lest still enjoy the picture?

No, I have no problem with their being more than one color on the clothing, nor do I have a problem with you drawing with a mouse instead of a pen. You are putting words into my mouth.

Then would you mind explaining what you mean by miss use of the gradient tool? Because all the gradient tool does is bleed two or more coolers together at a liner or Radius area. I'm asking because I what to get better at it

I be goin' to give ye some examples o' how Gradients be quite useless with proper color application.

This be a more abstract image, but it be showin' that ye can make a picture up o' seven colors, if ye just be usin' one to fer bright colors, and one fer black to give the illusion o' depth.

Here be another example, but with many more colors. This picture be usin' proper shadin' and highlightin' fer the subject in the image. This should be what ye strive fer lad.

I be hopin' that this teaches ye that Gradients be quick to ruin a picture, rather than save.

Alright I've read a professional coloring shading TUTORIAL and redone the picture with no gradient tool and pure self shading.

Also fixed the fur on the ears and tail a bit. Took all day hope you like It!

Did the wee lass spent the night sleepin' in a garbage pail?

`cause, that be the only explanation fer her clothes to be that wrinkly.

Hmm Later I'll try lightening the relief on that texture.I what there to be slight wrinkly because Satin does that.

It be not the amount o' wrinkin' that be on there, it be the fact that it be in unrealistic places fer the wrinkles to be.

Why don't ye stop bein' so lazy, and just use some simple curved lines to give the ILLUSION o' wrinkles and folds in the cloth.

Your textures only serve to flatten the image. It looks like a kid put various scraps together on top of your drawing to create the hair and clothes. Create textures using your mouse then. Sampling stuff like that only cheapens your drawing. Also study your light sourcing and anatomy better to create proper shading.

also, your coloring seems to bleed beyond the lines. I'm sure there's way to sharpen it up, but I don't really use photoshop or a similar program.
