Not so. Consider the movie "Death becomes her". Two aging women have fought over the same man for years. The one he didn't marry drinks a potion to become young and beautiful, is pleased with the results, and tries to win him back. But then his wife gets a hold of the same potion, is equally pleased with the results, and the rivalry continues...

So far, very much E, and still plenty of room for conflicts.

(Some stuff happen after that that definitely puts the movie in the D category, but that's beside the point.)
