Both were made to drive readers/lurkers/etc to help generate additional content for the whole genre(is calling it a genre too much? ). At one point an overwhelming majority of people had made it to the first VIP and no new content was being made, which is why I understand VIP2 was made.

VIP2 tends to house the semi-active writers, which is the major difference between it and VIP1.

RB9 and I handle the submissions; VIP1/2 require one each, but if you have something that obviously took the time/effort of two submissions then we can just put you into both groups at the same time. If you're aiming for that, just remember we'd like to divvy up the material so that there's a portion the VIP1 members can enjoy as well. So please keep that in mind.

Some people like to do it one at a time because it gives them a reason to make a 'sequel' to the material they made to enter the first VIP. That's cool too.

Good to see interest, even if I never see the material myself. These things only benefit the community as a whole, because often when people start creating things it spurs them on to create even more; and even if a person doesn't publish the first stuff they do to the whole world, chances are that if they make stuff later on they might.

As a "genre", it's oft overlooked in favour of the more obvious stuff out there, so anything adding to the pool of stuff to draw from is awesome.

Dude, it's not too hard, and there literally is a shitload of things, something like 50-70 fics EXCLUSIVELY about mostly EC and MC.

And it's funny that there were all those requests when you posted the info. I really should change the group name to kalten or something .

For me, while I could probably produce something, it's a time issue and effort/reward ratio. I have essentially 3-4 spare hours in the day to relax, and given that I write for a living, it's a little too close to work for my liking.

Laziness, basically. Thankfully, I'm long past the stage where I believe that the world owes me something for nothing, so it's all good.

I don't really see your argument here... you could probably ask anybody who is in the group and they would completely disagree about effort/reward. The way it is set up is that because so many people have contributed, for each additional member there is an increasing return for initial effort (which, 500 words, you could write in 30 mins to an hour if you focus). Then, there are additional returns as new people join. I feel the reward is actually quite large compared to a relatively small amount of work... though, to each their own.

How is the sequence coming, anyway?

Sorry, sequence might be a while because I've been putting 100% of my free time into Final Fantasy XI. Yeah, I'm a big nerd that's become addicted to this game again.
