He's the biggest jerk in... the world.

And that's why we love him.

On a different subject. I meant to post another drawing last night, but after spending sometime on a sketch, I decided it had gone awfully wrong and scrapped it. I'll take another crack at it tonight.

-Cheers.

Don't forget that his take on the Prius depends largely on that week's celebrity guest.

Just a thought, but have you ever considered doing a sort of "Cutting Room Floor" compilation? It might be nice to gain some insight into your perspective on the works, with some commentary (doesn't have to be much) on why some of the first efforts didn't quite "make the grade" as it were. Sure, it wouldn't be your finest work, but it'd give us some idea of what standard you use to judge your finest work. Perhaps even a couple initial sequences could show the process from "brainstorming" to "final product", perhaps even to give some historical context to some of your existing works.

I agree u should post some of your scraps so we can see your standards! Also keep up the great work! You almost inspire me to get out of my artist hibernation!

It wouldn't be very interesting. A lot of the sketching I've been doing lately is more about figuring out anatomy and posing than anything else.

I attached the one that didn't make it, it's pretty rough, I put it aside before I had put too much time into refining the sketch. I don't think there is really anything terribly wrong with it, it's just that I realized that the angle was wrong for what I wanted to convey and if I drew it a different way, I could made the shot a lot more dramatic.

You will see what I mean when I post the final one later tonight.

Re: Mongoose's Thread o' Random Stuff

Here we go. Messing around with colors this time, which served to remind me why I don't like messing around with colors.

-Cheers!

[edit]

Oh, right. Forgot to mention these are the characters from Mind Over Matter.

Re: Mongoose's Thread o' Random Stuff

Here we go. This is probably gonna be the last one for a while as I need to get cracking on some other projects.

Tried something new with the colors, fairly pleased with how it came out.

-Cheers.

Love the modesty, but the whole idea here is: anyone can sketch, not everyone has the talent to create new worlds for their sketches. Not to decry my own efforts, but I absolutely suck when it comes to translating my ideas into sketchwork. On the other hand, your sketchwork - your "learning practice", as it were - is better than my best efforts at this time. Think of it more as an instructional moment; everyone wants to "be you," but not everyone has that ability. By revealing some of your views, you can help to inspire those others with an ounce of artistic talent to "break out of their shells". Of course, it's not easy to share the spotlight; but think how much brighter it'll shine on "the one who brought growth to the masses" (bad pun aside).

See? I thought both works were fantastic, but that bit of explanation makes the difference between "something you created" and "something you took the time to create". It adds more depth to the piece to understand the artist's motivations and history, and makes it really stand out in the mind of the viewer.

Hell, I just thank you for going along with the thought experiment. Not everyone steps up to that, and I tip my hat to you for the opportunity.

Now, all that being said... Matt Smith? Not to pick on the work, but I always favored David Tennant. He just seemed to be the more "justifiably psychotic" of the latest Doctors. Just the same, that's one scene I'd pay to see in the series...
