On saying that the expectations that some people have of these stories is borderline fucking ridiculous. Do people actually expect huge amounts of character development, original stories, plot twists etc. in these stories.

Have these people forgotten that these stories are written about transformation of some degree?

Yes, I expect character development, plot, and original stories and plot twists. If all you want is a transformation scene fine maybe they pass but I want more. I don't want to read a actually pretty long story only for their to be no development and just have a transformation scene. If the transformation scene was extremely vivid and wonderfully written I would forgive the other material to an extent and likely my review would've looked like, "Wonderful transformation scene but characterization really needed work." But in this I just didn't feel that was the case.

If this was posted by the actual writer looking for a review and on what they want to improve I would also have been more generous actually pointing out specific areas that needed improvement. If you look at my posting history regarding prolonged stories you'll see that I can be quite verbose. However, this was another poster going, 'oh look these are really good stories and the author won't post or read your comments', so my comment was more directed to Lost then the writer. These aren't particularly good stories. There are FAR better TF scenes and stories with actual characters rather then cardboard cut outs on this site. Ahmain's stories that are posted on this site come to mind as far and away better then this and those are mostly sex driven so that isn't my problem either as the transformation in those is excellent, and the characters while often a bit shallow are nonetheless likable or you feel a connection to them. These just are not that good and since I can't point out to the author where they aren't that good that's my response. Forgive me for wanting more then just sex and horribly shallow characters in what would translate to around 45 pages in book form. I guess my standards are just too high.

At the end of the day, the only way stories can be posted on this board is if they are of the transformation nature. Therefore they can be said to be transformation stories and in that technically character development, plot etc. are secondary elements. You could write a tf scene and have no plot or development at all and it would be valid here.

You have to understand i am not disagreeing with you. It would be great if all the stories had all these things but the fact is that they don't and most likely never will.

I imagine that not many people on here are actual writers or have degrees in creative writing/english. So it is not that i am saying that you are wrong to think what you do or that i disagree with you but it's a unrealistic expectation which seems to be in high demand.

If you take the story i wrote, i don't know if you read it. You can think it's shit if you wish, it doesn't bother me. I didn't put much effort into that, i wrote my reasons in that thread. I don't have time or patience to do that and i am not a writer/don't have the skills needed to write to this expectation.

I imagine that is the case for most people who post here/write or draw material and that is the resulting material. There is definitely effort on their parts, like i said in the previous post not everything is going to be high standard. I would wager that there would be a huge drop in content and a decline in the community if it had to be of the quality you demanded.

It's just unrealistic, it can't be done. Also i get what you are saying you were more harsh because it's not the actual author, i get that as well but still effort went into it.

I can only presume this is sarcasm, it doesn't translate well via text. Like i said above, i agree with what you want but it's unrealistic and in 99.9999 recurring percent of cases it will not be that high quality of work.
