More like a weak possibility. MTV does not issue directives about how the werewolves should look (they've given the show a pretty free hand), and the beta werewolf form is not hideous enough for them to interfere. Additionally, the show quite obviously appeals more to a female (and gay) audience, so if they're willing to have the males in that make-up, a woman wouldn't be problem.

If that's actually who the audience is then I'd say with certainty that there won't be a female full-werewolf. There's a small chance if she's just a villain who's there for one of the heroes to kill, but, demographically, women don't like ugly characters.

Slight misunderstanding here: we've already established that the female character won't be the full werewolf (aka the Alpha). Currently there's only one of those and he's the one who makes the beta werewolves. The issue was just that some people doubted that the female would even get as much make-up as the beta werewolves (whose make-up is already limited). There's no reason why she wouldn't, though the beta transformation is too limited to get excited about in the first place.

The femme-wolf has already been cast by the way, and confirmed for multiple episodes. According to the press release: "Gage Golightly plays Erika, a high school pariah whose days of lonely lunchtimes and hallway shame are over after being bitten by a werewolf. In an instant, she?s 'the girl who walks in the cafeteria and forks drop,' says Golightly. 'It?s very fun to play that whole transformation and just be able to get back at everybody who made fun of her all those years.'"

Season 3 is going to feature a female Alpha named Kali played by Felisha Terrell. As you can see in the pic there is at least a little process. Here's hoping for more.
