If you're intending to be a regular, be varied about it. Graphic, action, and portrait pics and the most insane of pandering can be both good on practice in the end.

Besides, he doesn't actually care about meeting Western standards in reputation. Its more he doesn't want to locked out of serious work.

Looks like I'm the only person who has no idea who the heck this guy is. I'm behind on almost everything on this forum anyway though. His arms and legs are all pointy/angley and stuff, but it looks okay otherwise. Is there some kind of backstory here? Also,

Well he, and many others, do free requests on 4chan's /a/ and /jp/ on the waifu and drawfag threads.
As long as your requests are anime-related or anime culture related , you can sneak in a process/fetish pic or two.
(Also, his specific interests are a "bit" wider than that. Should be noticable if you look up his pixiv.)
For the limbs, I think you mean they lack actual tone, its just that its easier then. The only recent pic he's put out where he's brought that back visibly is Dress Up! on his DA.

He aims to be an accomplished artist on pixiv, Japan's DA, more than anything else. While the Japanese community is stingy too, its much more advanced than DA in content, artist recognition, community, and training.
Proper picture tagging, ratings, scheduled paint chats/streams, since everyone draws memes, only the best end up popular, all forms of pornography are allowed, etc.
Though as expected, if you mind the body type range of 14-19, you should avoid a good lot of the site yourself. Extend that to the R-18, and make that 4-13 and 65+.
