Sasami Magical Girls Club (AP TF/AR back to normal)

This is from the anime series "Sasami Magical Girls Club" in episode 22-23. While I am not sure what exactly happens, one of the main heroines is mind controlled and transforms into a dark and mature version of herself. Unfortunately, the AP transformation is off-screen. AR TF on the other hand, is done through flashy silhouette and shows somewhat noticeable process.

Wow, I wasn't expecting it to be dubbed, have none of the voices from the original Tenchi series or mispronounce the main character's name like that. Makes me sad.

It was Funimation that dubbed this series and the original Tenchi series, right? Maybe they just didn't realize both of the series were closely related. I do agree with your points though.

Tenchi Muyo was originally dubbed by Pioneer, who later became Geneon, before exiting the US distribution market entirely. Most of their shows were then picked up by Funimation.

Since most of the US distributors have their own favorite VA studio and since most US distributors don't really care about continuity, this meant that pretty much every purchased property was going to have a switch pulled on the voices.

Hmmm. Never really thought they had enough VA studios for dubbing Japanimations to choose from in the first place.
