This season even has not a tf for the werewolves in general. Obviously I am interested to the female tfs .
Yet, there were many potential she-wolves in the pack ... another big, big, big, big, big, big, big, disappointment... ![]() Last edited by Josh86; 02-12-2014 at 01:42 AM. |

![]() Now I remember that the same thing almost happened in UK version: after Nina's death, we had 0 female werewolf TFs even though there were at least two nice candidates. |

The only weak point for my plan is that you won't have some "real" werewolf stuff for cheating you and create some expectancies before spitting us the real bullshit. I swear this is based on a true story ![]() ![]() |

Well, I enjoyed it while it lasted. Regardless of the lack of process material in recent episodes, I'm going to be sad to see this one go. I really liked these characters. We should have seen the lack of werewolf FX this season as a huge clue that this show was on the bubble and there were clear budget limitations.

Anyway, I will always defend the TF thing as being not only fetish-related, but also as a real attraction for many people who enjoy watching different things on screen, being these good FX, violence or sex, to name some of them. Remove your "success items" and you are dead meat. I mean, one can still watch Peppa Pig if he/she needs to watch something less harmful for their eyes. |

Of course sometimes the show's effects reflect just how much of a budget that particular season has gotten. The British Sci-Fi series Red Dwarf is a perfect example, during Series(Seasons) when the show had a larger budget the effects where more impressive and plentiful , when the budget was lean the quality and frequency of special effects lessened. |

Series 9 (the "movie" / Back to Earth) was a particularly glaring departure from the norm. They omitted a laugh-track / studio audience altogether. I'm sure the director prefers to call it a stylistic choice. I prefer to see it as BBC fat-cats killing the laughter for a cheap buck.

Re: Being human syfy s.4 is a big disappointment.
For me the point when the show started to go downhill was the scene of Erin's transformation during the previous season. I mean, it was good even though it was also very brief (but I prefer that brief performance of Lydia Doesburg aching of pain over the plain acting of Ms Vandervoort), but when the "wolf" Nora did THAT thing to "wolf" Erin, I was absoutely sure that the age of the werewolf had came to an end, followed by the "age of the spiritual-lame-shapeshifters-ala-american-native" that seems to be so popular amongst american writers (whore roots are NOT indian native at all, ironically).
After that moment the show has begun to experiment with werewolf stuff that is not really scary... they got the wolf, but lost the monster in the process. The last insult, but this for us only, is that they have still spent some money in showing the werewolf for so unnecessarily long time, and forgetting about the werewolf TF that, from my point of view, is expensive but cheaper than having a digital werewolf wandering in a cage for minutes and minutes. |

I never said the effect was universal, or that EVERY Fantasy/Sci-Fi series ever has suffered the same effects of "Budget Decay". How ever they TEND TO fall into that trap, so it does not surprise me that Being Human is doing what MOST Sci-fi/fantasy series tend to do, cutting back on effects as the series progresses. |

Re: Being human syfy s.4 is a big disappointment.
I have been following this post and a lot of people here are saying the show is dissapoiting because there isn't a 20 min tf in every episode but what i think is the issue is the lack of effort put into the characters themselves
Aiden= Hes a twilight style vampire with none of the vampire weaknesses, sunlight dosn't hurt him, he can walk about with no issues except hes pale and needs blood but he can easily obtain it either from blood bank or willing donors, but of course as a vampire they make him have the bloodlust he fights. In the 4 seasons hes flip-flopped between scary bloodsucker and mopey bloodsucker when hes feeling guilty at the people he kills, but there hes the same character from season 1 till now ...no real growth and the bad boy/wounded soul is wearing thin Sally= wtf is going on with her, shes been a ghost/ghost-witch/zombie/mortal/grim reaper/random time traveller and whatever else they come up with to try to make her interesting but again despite giving her random new powers shes the same boring person whos only purpose is to be josh and aidens advisor on life issues. Josh=hes been the most interesting of the three mains but unlike aiden who has all the vampire superpowers full time , hes a normal average person except the full moon where we get the majority of the shows budget on his and the other werewolf tfs. Nora=as this show is a copy of the UK show , shes put in as a the love interest of Josh and becomes a werewolf herself and we got a few interesting tfs in it that we all watch for and the focus of most of this post. But honestly shes a boring character and watching the show they writers don't put much effort into her at all. Being human is a victim of poor writing and weak characters, special effects can only carry a show so far and now that they cut back , much like the UK version this one is doomed to be cancelled |
