Deviantart Transformation Competition

Hey folks,

I got a notice on DA that they're holding a transformation based art competition. Challenging artists to do a 3-stage transformation from one thing to another. Since that's more or less the bread and butter of people who come here, might be worth a look. And for those among us who lack the skill to make art of our own (myself included), well there might be some folks from outside the fandom who can produce some new art for us to appreciate.

Winners get $1000, a tablet and a trip to one of three cities for a collaboration with another artist.

It is though, just not meant to be shown as fetish material. As far as they've let us know, they want three stages of ANYTHING turning into ANYTHING.

Exactly! I was about to make a post about this as well. We have some pros in our community as far as this stuff goes.

I guarantee you that Wat and StilettoPink could bring home first prize for sure with a non-fetish submission. Or perhaps one of our more talented photomanipulators? I think it's worth looking into, folks! =D

Yeah, not expecting fetishy, but still have hopes for some nice TF in general.

I've been considering an entry, but I'm not sure about subject yet. I'll need to find someone with a series of suitable stock photos.

And really people, there isn't an actual TF community as far as art is concerned, transformation has been a form of expression in art for really long and almost every artist has experimented with transformations at some point in their lives. So I really encourage people from this forum and the small social circles we formed to try a hand at this and be judged by what may be as close as a professional critic we can get.

If its art class transformation its entirely
within the average viewers skill set

-assume you have 5 boxes
and draw a stick figure man in Box 1
and a simple boxes and circles and lines steam locomotive in Box 5

The 3 empty boxes are the challlenge
What lines need altering to turn the drawing in Box 1 into the
drawing in Box 5?

Basically a game!
