Actually, Words of God from the shows's creators(as in, the actual creative team, not the corporate folks that funds the series and development of video games) apparently showed that there indeed was a lot of pressure from corporates on cartoons they've worked on to do stuff like demanding female characters being put "just one step behind the boys" so they aren't too prominent and that kind of stuff doesn't promote the female characters as much as the guys whom boys could "relate" to and then later buy the toys of, etc.

Note this is the comments of admittedly the member of only one animation team, about one very specific(and possibly biased and/or skewed source of information) personal sets of experience with shows from possibly 2 years or more ago(the show that replaced the Tower Prep project they worked on started in 2012).

If we have learned ANYTHING from the Sony Leaks, wanting to kill some executives seems to be a fairly common state of being in Hollywood. These people are NOT good humans.
