I was checking out some coming attractions on Twitch when I came across this article for Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe.

The first trailer (middle video) is spoiler free, but the second trailer (bottom video) which looks filled with spoilers will be of interest to you. About halfway into it there is a flash of a woman apparently tied down mid transformation. It could wind up being nothing, but I thought it was enough to interest you guys.

Yeah, definitely there will be some TF there... the point is that it is unlikely that they would show much of it (I mean, those tiny censorship issues), but it looks promising

Yeah, there won't be any on screen nudity, but it seems to be implied.

Probably because we've had a million TF teasers that don't show nudity? It's a Chinese movie, pretty sure the entire cast and crew would be put to death if half a titty made it into the film. We ain't getting nothin' outta this.

Granted this is more of a mass-oriented film, but you are familiar with CAT III in HK/China right? There's plenty of Chinese material out there with nudity - maybe not necessarily TF-related, but we're not talking about the middle east here.

Maybe there is a bit of confusion here... the CAT III is, as far as I know, a kind of rating for the movies in China. It includes "erotism", softcore (to a certain degree), foul language, usage of drugs... all you can think about. The productions from Hong Kong benefit from a slighty "forgiveness" from the censors, but it is not the case for the rest of them.
So the answer is that maybe (just maybe) there could be some movies CAT III with TFs or mild nudity, but you had to navigate through unknown seas... I don't have time or patience to do it myself, for sure

Yeah, CAT III is for the hard stuff (sex/violence)- traditionally from HK, but starting to show up more on the mainland as well.

A John Woo gangster film in the 80s/90s would be IIb, while something more extreme like Bio-Zombie or Men Behind the Sun would be considered Cat III. I think HK flicks with TF-lite content like Chinese Ghost Story and Mr. Vampire were at IIa. There are a lot of harder sexual comedies that have been coming out the last few years as well.

That said, I think in the mainland Chinese market we're not going to see much "interesting" content simply because they're aiming for as broad an audience as possible...and the Party censors are much more "sensitive".

Bride with White Hair was IIa originally (after edits) and the more recent "Painted Skin" (still on my list to check on for tf content) was IIb.
