Oh, and an apology for the 'Shifters' thing...

Shifters has an EXTREMELY good story, and despite my rather stupid, warehouse-induced worries about characterization, still manages to focus on characters...It's an extremely good comic, in all aspects...

AlphaLuna, however, manages to instantly capture the essence of werewolves, and also has an EXTREMELY detailed transformation...In that aspect, it is superior...

I still have both of 'em bookmarked...And would donate to both if I only had money!

Hello there, well... thanks for your comments, but please don't do comparisons in that manner. In fact , besides both are online manga comics...I think our works are quite differents.

Different techniches and ways to work are done in a way that suit better for each artist...because of time, because of practice and because of the final result do you want to achive. If that result is the like of readers or not the time will tell.
After that If you want to criticize the artist , you should probably do it in the right place, email, or place related to that work. Although doing it here, for exaple would have been fine if you wouldn't have done comparisions for put down other artists. Because that's offensive.

My bad english, I'd like to express better, Hope you have understood the main idea. Byes

PS:I like Shifters

HEY LOBOLEO............! You found us!

Welcome to our ( not so ) humble abode of Transformation heaven!

Yes, I have been following Alpha Luna, and the story just gets better with every update. But I've got one question..................

1. You see, you have been doing Issue #1 now for almost a year, how many pages did you plan on making the first issue?

2. How many issues is this story going to run?

Hello there Money . The first issue won't be more than 55 pages. Now I can't answer the scond question because I haven't write down that much. I've split the story in 3 main arcs and I know that al leasts how the story will go over at least for 2 other years to come :P and what eventually will happen...and the rest it's up to the response and feedback that the story will have. We'll see

Its something I've only recently had time to try to learn. Wish I'd learnt it sooner, its a bit easier in some respects.
Forgot to reply this. I just use the brush and usuallythe same 3 gray tones for all the pages. So for create shadows and I just put them over layers with multiply option and when you duplicate that layer it becomes automatically more dark and then I just erase what I don't need to. And that's it. I just use dodge and burn mainly for photomorphs and that kind o things, not for the comic.

Careful, you'd be surprised just how many people "lurk" this forum. Comic artists, pop artists, and writers all the like. I've only found it out myself too many times.

And besides, I fancy how you criticize other people's art when I really don't see any contribution of your own.

I really like how people compare two artist's styles to each other. I mean really, there isn't just ONE style in the world.

It's like comparing Dragonball to Bleach or Naruto.

I'm sorry, besides starting up an argument/debate from years ago. I'm going to say that's a piss poor thing to say. An art critic doesn't need to be good at making art themselves or have to contribute anything in that medium. That's like saying, you shouldn't criticise politicians because you've never been one. Further, the creation of art ultimately lies with the viewer. The artist creates the original concept, the original story, etc. The people that view and look at that art are the ones that derive meanings and significance. And in that sense they are contributing to the art form.

Lastly, I find it a rather unfair standard you're holding up here. Not everyone has the ability to draw and write. You're saying their opinion does not matter and with that showing disrespect. Ultimately, it's rude to say such a thing.

I could easily have said the same for you, but that would end to no avail. So I will leave it at that so as to prevent anymore worthless dwabbling.

All in all, I find it very harsh for people to criticize artists such as the way you did. As if there is only one way to do art in the world. What you may say about politicians is true, but then again, their method may be different.

Take FDR for example, don't think that every damned person in America was happy with the "New Deal".

Re: Alpha Luna

From a completely unexperienced standpoint I have to say that I really don't care about how artists do their thing as long as they are doing it a way that I like, such thought makes me come back to Shifters and now to Alpha Luna every time I am willing to read something fantastic that takes me away from my utterly boring quotidian.
As for this thread in particular, I am delighted to see LoboLeo back at work and even more delighted to see that HIS STORE IS WORKING! Hells know how long I've looked around for Leo's old stuff with no avail.

Whoa shadow, misdirected rage much? The post you yelled down was made 6 years ago, that post was very old, and the guy that commented wasn't the original poster. I get that these things get you mad, but that's kind of harsh man.

On topic for the thread, I must say I have always been a fan of Alpha Luna, first coming across it all those years ago and never looking back *fades into nostalgia*
