Not a corruption. I'm sure there's something dark and sexy involved, but despite having the same face and name, those two are separate entities.

are you sure? both pics are listed under the same character on the official website.

admittedly I can't read kanji and google translate is a no go since the site is flash so I have no clue what it says so I could be wrong

it says something about the "light" version being her after she lost her memories. doesn't remember anything other than her name

the "dark" version is her original form

So basically they're ripping off the Lana/Cia thing from Hyrule Warriors, which in turn ripped off the 1994 season of Viper and turned it into the plot for a magical girl show.
