Re: Ce

AzureChromatic sez This actually makes more sense than you guys think. For those not really bo thering:

A project that wasn't able to take off but was recently rediscovered.

Basically a intenet volunteer driven filmmakers "Mechanno/American Erector"
set

"Base" refers to, I'm assuming, storyboards or "ideas" in this case,

charcoal-mation ( 2006):draw the background /none changing scene
on white paper with Skrip black ink
.charcoal pencils tend to erase very easily, but while the
morphing/moving/talking animated item is on there the black charcoal
scans in very easily to make a cel # 01 ( charcoal has a nice texture
that stands out well in the scanned image.)
Erase/alter the charcoal and alter it,move it.The black ink from the
scene/background stays put and the morphing charcoal does its thing
in a series of cels from cel #00 to (example ) cel 25.Back in 2006
such methods allowed about 25-64 cels to be made per hour,About
8 to 20 seconds of animation per run using 3-5 frames/second

The base refers to a vast quantity of the jpeg cels and the avi clips
made from them. There was also verious stuff such as audio effects files,a time line video editor called Video Framer thats fairly useful
to do multiple tasks such as audio editing, converting a
avi clip back into its jpeg 'screen capture' cels, etc

Back in 2006 I still had a communityminded spirit so the clips and cels
were less fetish/vanity influenced then my later stuff.

Hence about 250 MB of 'generic' userfriendly stuff in the 2013 version
of the base and 550 MB in the less userfriendly 2006 base.
animation now residing with
Larry Barron.

Since that stuff can only decline in value as new technology and
software scomes along, and since Larry Barron expressed a interest in the
Open Source Public Cel TF Animation Archive,I sent it off to him
to do with as he pleases and signed off rights to the intellectual property/copywrite of the material.

and then other members with movie-making knowledge would, assumably, work together to make a finished product.

products,many many products.As we all know,the components of a
Mechanno set can be put together in more ways then are included in that toys
assembly manual. of projects to make.

So if others volunteers to help Larry Barron with matters,it would be a
project tying together many diffent disciplines of a volunteer
population to make a "film industry'

Blah, blah, blah detail. Making a TF Movie Film Festival if there manages to be a lot of content...

Actually if
Open Source Public Cel TF Animation Archive took off,it would dwarf
anything the current and past tf communities have done.TFIFF was just
the flavour of the month.Larry Barron is skilled at computers
and lightscribing DVD's and was asking me questions more in line with
marketing,advertising,imaginary movies posters,general
"Hottest thing coming out of Hollywood" territory .Not a field
I felt I could help him on.

but that's pretty much the gist of it.

More or less
